New record for US hide, skin and leather exports for 2013

US hide exports for 2013 reached record highs. With continued rise in meat and hide prices as well as support from the (NEI) National Export Initiative, exports for wet salted cattle hides increased 12% in value to $1.85 billion despite regulatory restrictions in key leather producing countries such as China and India.
